EA Ski and Ice Cube use DMDS

Oakland, CA, the birthplace of many of hip-hop’s most successful emcees, producers, and groups in the rap music history, also birthed multi-platinum record producer and executive, E-A Ski, who began producing songs at a young age for several of hip-hop’s greatest talents.

If you look behind the music you will see that E-A Ski has been involved with various stand-out projects by some hip-hop’s top artists like Ice-T, Mr. Mike, Jayo Felony, B-Legit, Yukmouth, Too $hort, Ice Cube, Nate Dogg, WC, Messy Marv and others throughout the 1990’s and in to the new millenium.

He produced chart-topping hits by Spice-1, Luniz, and more, and collaborated with Dr. Dre on one of Hip-Hop’s greatest unreleased tracks, “Dr. Dre & Mr. Ski”.

E-A Ski can currently be heard behind Ice Cube’s iTunes bonus track “Pros vs Joes” off of the recently released “I Am The West” album, as well as providing the sonic backdrop for I.M.G.M.I. recording artist Locksmith, on songs like “Rare Form”, “Man Up”, and the latest, heavily buzzed and talked about song, “Grey Area”, which features Slaughterhouse emcee Crooked I.  As if that wasn’t enought, E-A Ski is also serving as current spokesperson and endorser for Native Instruments’ new groove production studio known as the “Maschine”.

As we all know, history tends to repeat itself and E-A Ski is back with a vengeance, boasting a new stable full of west coast talent that is ready to follow in the footsteps on E-A Ski’s decorated history.  With artists like Locksmith and Frank Niddie on deck and waiting for their crack at music history, E-A Ski and I.M.G.M.I. are ready to takeover not just west coast music, but all of music.

Q: What projects are you currently working on?

A: I’m working on the Ice Cube EP, my new solo album ‘The 5th of Skithoven”, and an album with my new artist, Locksmith.

Q: How did the DMDS system work for you in getting your latest video to important music-video broadcasters?

A: DMDS worked very well for me to digitally deliver the video to the broadcasters ON TIME.

Q: How has getting video airplay affected your career?

A:  Getting video airplay helps by getting your music out, and at the same time, presenting you as more of a visual artist.  This is very important in todays market place, so more people see and hear you in one shot.

Q: What are some of your goals now?

A: My goal is to continue to keep the visuals hot, and use DMDS to deliver future projects.

Q: How did becoming a DMDS PRO member help you?

A: Becoming a DMDS PRO member allowed me to deliver my videos INSTANTLY to the broadcasters, and saved me money by not having to make tapes and Fedex them.
