MTV/Vh1 Now Accepting Digital HD Video Submissions Only!

An important announcement from Viacom/MTV Networks regarding video submissions:

From: "Pickett, Mjeema"

To: Undisclosed Recipients

Subject: SIGNS OF THE TIME!

Hey guys,

We would like to share with you three very important changes regarding our music video submissions process:

1.      Effective immediately, our weekly music video acquisitions meeting will become DAILY.  The new submission deadline is 3:00pm daily. This allows us to drastically decrease the turnaround time and have videos ready for air & online within 24 hours.

2.      Effective immediately, the Viacom/MTVN preferred format for music videos is HIGH DEFINITION (HD). Standard Definition masters will only be accepted if the video was shot in SD.  This change will require all music video submissions to be done digitally.  Yangaroo/DMDS, our music video submission partner, can provide all the tools necessary to switch to a complete digital submission process.  Attached is a one-sheet explaining the workflow and info on how to sign up for this service.  Please note, URL/links to music videos will NOT be accepted for submissions.

3.      Effective July 2, 2012, record labels will have the ability to check off which VMA categories are relevant for the video being submitted. This will inform the respective VMA categories for all eligible music videos for the subsequent VMA Balloting.

Thanks,
Mjeema
